WOTA Exhibits at “Sewage Works Exhibition ’26 Tokyo” from August 4 to August 7
WOTA is currently exhibiting at the “Sewage Works Exhibition ’26 Tokyo,” which opened at Tokyo Big Sight on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Under the theme of “Decentralization,” WOTA’s booth features three exhibition areas: Disaster Prevention, Decentralized Water and Sewer Systems, and Resource Circulation.
Today, the environment surrounding water infrastructure is reaching a major turning point due to population decline, aging infrastructure, and intensifying natural disasters. In light of these challenges, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has highlighted the “optimal placement of facilities based on an optimal mix of centralized and decentralized systems” as one of its new directions toward achieving resilient and sustainable water and sewage systems.
WOTA is rethinking water infrastructure not only in terms of how existing systems can be maintained in their current form, but also from the perspective of what water infrastructure should look like in the future in order to adapt to demographic shifts, disaster risks, and changing economic environments.
Against this backdrop, WOTA presents a comprehensive picture of how decentralized water infrastructure can be introduced and realized. At the booth, visitors can explore WOTA’s initiatives to date and its future outlook in an integrated presentation, ranging from forward-looking water infrastructure planning and assessment to the real-world deployment of decentralized systems and the frameworks that enable it, including institutional mechanisms and demonstration projects.
