About the Resilience Japan Promotion Council (General Incorporated Association)
Established in response to the Cabinet approval of the Basic Plan for National Resilience in June 2014, the Resilience Japan Promotion Council was founded with the goal of harnessing private-sector expertise to promote national resilience.
Since its inception, the Council has played a key role in developing and advancing comprehensive resilience-related initiatives. It brings together stakeholders from industry, academia, government, and civil society to form various working groups, and organizes symposiums and seminars. It also operates the Japan Resilience Award (Kyojinka Taisho) and works in collaboration with the government to enhance public understanding and awareness of resilience.
Additionally, the Council is the sole certifying body for the “National Resilience Contribution Organization Certification” (Resilience Certification), established by the Cabinet Secretariat’s Office for the Promotion of National Resilience in April 2016. Through this role, it supports companies and organizations in strengthening their disaster preparedness and business continuity efforts.
